It's My Birthday & I'll Cry If I Want To
Can someone answer this, I have been playing GW for a little over a year, and thought I was in for a little treat with the birthday pressies
BUT, it seems it's how long your char is logged in, like I said I've had for over a year, and with /age i'm 1,252 hours & 54 mins. BUT, there is 8k hours in a year, am I supposed to leave GW's on 24/7 to get these birthday presents? I was speaking to some people in LA, who said they hadn't played for a while and still got birthday presents, so confused |

Birthday presents are calculated on the calendar age of the character, not the logged-in age.
You need the following: 1. a character whose age is one year (not your account age). 2. an empty slot in the character's inventory. 3. no access to your account by "friends". If you are positive that you have fulfilled #s 1 & 2, then wait about a week after the "birthday" and contact support.

Your character has to be 12, 24 or 36 months old.

...You do not have to play a character for 8,766 hours (a year's time) to get a birthday present. 12, 24, etc. months after you create the character you'll get a birthday present, regardless of how many hours you've played on said character. The thing you should be looking for when you type /age is how many months you've had the character for, total time played is just for shits and giggles.

Your /age in hours is the amount of time you have actually logged on on that character. For the age in months since your character's 'birth' you need to look at the months. I.e. your character's /age should say something like: you have played this character for 1,252 hours and 54 minutes over the past 12 months.

Alright, now that everyone has regurgitated what the previous poster has said, how about someone closing this thread?

No, he was saying that if you let a friend use your account, they may log in, find a present, and trade it to their account or someone else for money. Friend was in "" because someone who would do that isn't really a friend.
